Orissa`s Renubala Mahanta won the under-20 girls long jump gold on the third day of the 25th National Junior Athletics Championship at Warangal (AP) today. Purnima Hembram fetched a bronze medal for the state by finishing third in under-18 girls heptathlon.
Earlier yesterday, Orissa bagged two golds and two silvers. Shrabani Nanda and Jauna Murmu stood first in under-20 girls 100 metre and 400 metre sprints respectively. Ranjita Mahanta and Birsa Oram finished second in u-20 girls 100m sprint and u-20 boys 1500m run respectively.
MEDAL WINNERS:
Gold: 1. Renubala Mahanta (u-20 girls long jump, 5.75m), 2. Shrabani Nanda (u-20 girls 100m run, 12.11s), 3. Jauna Murmu (u-20 girls 400m run, 56.66s).
Silver: 1. Ranjita Mahanta (u-18 girls 100m run, 12.32s), 2. Birsa Oram (u-20 boys 1500m run, 4:07.55s).
Bronze: 1. Purnima Hembram (u-18 girls heptathlon).
